Daniel S. Ziebarth

Daniel S. Ziebarth, age 70 of Ottawa, died at his home on Monday, October 29, 2018. Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Le Sueur. Dan was born on August 1, 1948 to Ivan and Lorraine (Ipsen) Ziebarth in St. Peter. He grew up in Le Sueur and attended St. Anne's Grade School, Le Sueur High School, the Control Data Institute, and Mankato State where he earned a degree in Geology. He was self-employed for many years but recently worked as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office in the Le Sueur area from 2003 until his recent illness. Dan enjoyed the rural life, hunting and fishing especially his annual trips to Wyoming and Montana to hunt antelope. He is survived by his siblings, Susan of Rochester, Tim (Shirley) of Le Sueur, Dave (Colleen) of St. Paul, and Don (Michelle) of Rochester; nieces, Ingrid (Jim) Marino of Park City, Tanya of Antioch, TN, Molly (Ben) Lockwood of Duluth, MN, and Katie (Bill) McHale of Andover, MN; nephews, Cole of Clearwater, FL, and Jack Funes of Chicago, IL; five great-nieces; step-daughter, Sarah Cameron and her children, Grace and Charles, of Excelsior, MN; and step-son, Bill (Mary) Randall and their sons, Matthew, Andrew and Justin and his friend Kennedy of Le Sueur.
