Daniel L Zurn

Daniel Lee Zurn, age 72 of Belle Plaine, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 3, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist – Union Hill at 11 a.m. with Fr. Eugene Theisen presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior.

Dan was born in New Prague on May 29, 1952, to Walter “Bud” and Geraldine (Wilson) Zurn. He graduated high school from Belle Plaine and after received his bachelor’s degree at St. John’s University. Dan was self-employed for many years before receiving a position at the Scott County government in Information Technology. On July 5, 1980, Dan married Audrey Weiers at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Union Hill. Together they raised a family of three children.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey (Weiers) Zurn; children, Andrew (Shannon Lane) of Portland, Nick (Jennifer) Zurn of New Prague, and Katelyn Zurn of Golden Valley; brother, Greg (Beansy) Zurn; and sister Samantha Emelife.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Kurt and Tim Zurn.
