Darla Plieseis

Darla Plieseis, age 74 of Arlington passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 17th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. A visitation will take place on Sunday, October 16th from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington and one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Darla Jean was born on June 22, 1942 in Hamburg, the daughter of Henry and Bertha (Kroppen) Stock. She was baptized on July 5, 1942 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg and confirmed on March 25, 1956 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America. She graduated from Central High School in Norwood Young America on June 2, 1960. On January 29, 1961 Darla married Dennis Plieseis at St. John's Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America. She worked as a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm and with his business. Darla was a proud member of St. Paul's Lutheran Mission Society and enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and making Christmas candy. Darla loved catering to her grandchildren. Darla is preceded in death by her parents and her parents-in-law Wilbert & Gladys Plieseis, husband Dennis Plieseis, daughter Donna Plieseis and 10 siblings. She is survived by daughters Sandra (Duane) McGuire of Gaylord and Brenda (Shannon) Kranz of Arlington, grandchildren; Wayne McCormick, Jr. and his girlfriend Sarah Jacobus, Jonathon McCormick and his girlfriend April Robinson, Jennifer McCormick, Melissa (Joe) Fisher, Bradley (Cassie) McGuire, Andrew McGuire and his fiancé Laura Alinder, Denver, Alicia, Connor and Brianna Kranz, great grandchildren; Logan McCormick, Evan Battcher, Austin Fisher, Brooklyn Fisher and Tyler McGuire and brother Arden Mueller of California.
