David Clayton Hohenstein Jr. was born in Madelia, Minnesota on June 17, 1961. He passed away in Le Sueur, Minnesota, on March 12, 2015, having reached the age of 53. His residence was in Belle Plaine, Minnesota. David was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. David is survived by his parents, David Sr and Margaret Hohenstein of Winona, Minnesota; his wife, Julie, of Belle Plaine, Minnesota; his sons Grant (Chloe) of Kansas City, Missouri; their children Annabelle and Theodore; and Andrew of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and their mother, David's ex-wife, Rhonda of Independence, Missouri. Also surviving is his stepson Jesse (Sabrina) Nelson of Belle Plaine, Minnesota, and his stepdaughter Angie (Shaun) Wilkinson of St. Bonifacius, Minnesota; and his stepgrandchildren Orion and Cloud. He is also survived by his brother Daniel (Jesse) Hohenstein of Frisco, Texas; his sisters, Susan (Kirk) Griebel of Owatana, Minnesota, Sara (Steve) Titus of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and Stephine (Ron) Klemme of Racine, Wisconsin. He further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and other relatives. Preceding David in death were all of his grandparents, two uncles, one aunt, and a cousin. Services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1664 Kraemer Drive, Winona, Minnesota on Saturday, March 21 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the service. Pastor Kevin Froelich officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
