David Alan Swanson

David A. Swanson, age 74 of Carver, died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at his home. Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30 at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Eden Prairie. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, and also one hour prior to the Mass at church. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to C.A.R.S (Colon, Anal, Rectal Support Group of Minnesota). David was born on May 9, 1938 to Charles and Mabel (Hammre) Swanson in Montevideo, MN. He graduated from Renville High School in 1956 and was also a graduate from Dunwoody. David served in the United States Marines Corp. He married Nora Dynan on December 2, 1967 in Richfield, MN. David was a mechanic and worked at North West Airlines for 36 years. He also volunteered as a travels assistant at the Minneapolis International Airport. He enjoyed the traveling, outdoors, sports, taking photographs, honey bees, and making maple syrup. He loved to work around his hobby farm was a real jokester. He is preceded in death by parents; brothers, Kenneth Swanson and Richard Goss; Sister, Mildred Bruns; Brother-in-law, Leonard Bruns and Sister-in-law Muriel Swanson. He is survived by his Wife of 45 years, Nora of Carver; Son, Charlie (Nadia) Swanson of Chanhassen; Brother, Robert (Joyce) Swanson of Renville; Sister, Ramona (Kenneth) Samuelson of Sacred Heart; Nieces and Nephews, Dennis (Phyliss), Duane (Special Friend Monica), Darrell (Laurie), David, Daniel and Dorrie Bruns, Deb (Tom) McEachren, Bonnie (Kevin) Braun, Peggy (Gregg) Cunningham, Tim Swanson, and Rae (Jarrod) Roufs; Many Great Nephews and Niece.
