Deborah Mae (Wanner) Fogarty, age 70, passed away on Sunday, June 21st at her home. Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, June 27, 2020, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church, Belle Plaine, MN. Visitation will be on Friday, 4:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, MN. Visitation will also be 1 hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Saturday at the funeral home, then procession to the church at 10:20a.m. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Belle Plaine. Due to the COVID~19 restrictions, only 50 people will be allowed in the funeral home at a time on Friday.
She was born May 9, 1950 to Paul and Edith Wanner in Dickinson, North Dakota.
She attended St. Mary’s Catholic school in New England ND, graduating in 1968. She moved to Waconia, MN in 1968, and met the love of her life, James, in May, 1970 at a dance hall in Waconia, MN. She and Jim spent the first year and a half writing letters while Jim was serving in the military in Guam. They married in September, 1973 and made their home on James’ home farm in Belle Plaine, MN. Their marriage was blessed with 4 kids, Nathan, Chantel, Brandon, and James. Debbie loved her family; her grandkids were her pride and joy and she never missed any performance or event they were in. She cherished any time she could get with them. Debbie worked for Taher Food Service for 30 years, and enjoyed seeing many children pass through the lunch lines. She was Grandma to many more kids than just her own. She enjoyed making quilts, fishing, playing cards and playing dice games.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jim; Children, Nathan (Amy) Fogarty, Chantel (Ryan) Barnett, Brandon (Jen) Fogarty, and James (Deanne) Fogarty; Grandchildren Megan and Alex Fogarty, Elizabeth, Aubrie and Thomas Barnett, and Wyatt and Gavin Fogarty. Brothers and Sisters; Harvey (Jean) Wanner, Marietta (Don) Nygaard, Terry Wanner, Pauly (Jim) Krebs, Janel (Bryan) Schiele, Dale Wanner, Jackie (Ray) Kraft. Brothers-in-law; Kerry (Lois) Fogarty, Joe (Annette) Fogarty, Troy (Toni) Fogarty, and Blaise (Jane) Fogarty.
Preceded in death by her parents Edith & Paul Wanner, brothers, Joseph Wanner and Duane Wanner, brother-in-law Clarence Huck, Mother & Father in law Joseph & Betty Fogarty.
