Debra Ann Moen January 22, 1963 – December 29, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Debra Ann Moen, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Debra passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of her family.
Debra was born on January 22, 1963, in Ramsey, Minnesota, to Lyle and Eileen Hanson. She grew up in a close-knit family and carried her parents’ values of kindness and compassion throughout her life.
Debra married the love of her life, Bert Moen, in Becker, MN on May 15, 2002. She was the proud and devoted mother of Jennifer (Nate) Vassar, Kristi (Santhony) Johnson, and Madison (Micah) Johnson. Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jazmyn (Ed), Gabreona (Carter), Allyson (Ben), Santhony Jr., William Jr., Aubrey, Jericho, Eden, and Mac, who will forever hold her love and faith in their hearts.
She is also survived by her siblings, Barb Ratzlaff, Donovan (Andrea) Hanson, Sue (Tom) Lagergren, and Chad (Alicia) Hanson. Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Eileen Hanson.
Debra’s career as a coach and financial analyst at AT&T showcased her determination, intelligence, and passion for helping others succeed. Outside of work, her heart was devoted to her family, her faith, and her community. A natural nurturer, she found immense joy in Bible study, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her radiant smile and warm spirit had the power to light up any room, and her willingness to befriend everyone she met left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
Debra’s greatest joys in life were being a wife, mom, and grandma and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. Her unwavering faith was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her.
A celebration of Debra’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church, Arlington, MN. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering the incredible woman who brought so much love and light to the world.
Debra’s love and faith will continue to guide and comfort us in the days ahead. Her memory will be a treasure we carry forever.
