Dennis "Ray" Connolly

Dennis "Raymond" Connolly, age 92 of Belle Plaine, passed away at his home on September 16, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11a.m. on Tuesday, September 20th at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. Fr. Brian Lynch and Fr. Roger Hessian will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8p.m. on Monday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday morning. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Ray was born in Derrynane Township in St. Thomas on January 25, 1924 to John and Winifred (Blake) Connolly. He graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1941. On June 30, 1951 he married Mary Byrne at St. Thomas Catholic Church in St. Thomas. He farmed in Derrynane Township until 1989 when they moved to Belle Plaine. He worked at NAPA Auto Parts in Jordan and Belle Plaine. He was a member of St. Thomas Church and Our Lady of the Prairie. He enjoyed time with his family, playing cards and old time music. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers John Jr., Terry & infant brother Emmett, sons John & Jerry, grandson Christopher. Ray is survived by his wife, Mary, Children, Ann (Steve) Seurer of Burnsville, Jeanette Connolly & fiancé Owen Kragthorpe of Jordan, Monica (Bill) Kennealy of Eagan, Theresa (Ken) Wolf of Belle Plaine, & Tim (Linda) Connolly of Coon Rapids, Daughter in law, Deb Connolly of Belle Plaine, 17 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, Many Nieces & Nephews.
