Dennis R. Heldberg

Dennis Roy Heldberg, age 69 of rural LeCenter passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cleveland at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. Shelly Olson will officiate. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery in Le Sueur. Mr. Heldberg was born on December 3, 1942 to Roy and Grace (Young) Heldberg in Le Sueur. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1961 where he played football. A lifetime farmer who married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Heilman. He worked on the farm with his father until he took over when his father retired. He worked at the Security Hospital for 36 years. He also had a part time job at Alumacraft for 10 years, all while continuing to farm, which was his favorite pastime. Dennis is survived by his wife, Sandra; sons, Brian of Minneapolis, Kevin (Wendy) of Le Sueur, Darren of Kasota and Dale (Cruz) of Le Sueur; grandchildren, Heidi and Shelby, Yesenia and Kalem; and step-grandchildren, David, Kim and Niki. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Brenda Huberty and brother-in-law, Rich Frederick.
