Dexter L. Myhre, age 72 of Arlington, formerly of Anoka and New Ulm, MN, died at the Good Samaritan Center in Arlington on Thursday, July 9, 2015. Services will be on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, MN. Visitation will be at the funeral home the morning of the services from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN on Tuesday, July 14, at 12:45 p.m. assembly area #4. Rev. Kathy Heine will officiate the services. Dexter was born on February 26, 1943 to LeRoy and Arvith (Hand) Myhre in Bemidji, MN. He grew up in the Lino Lakes area until finishing high school. He entered the United States Army in 1964-1966 and served during Vietnam. Following the service he lived in Anoka for 20 years and lived in New Ulm for 30 years. He worked as a mechanic and over the road trucker. Dexter's passions included Drag Racing and Nascar. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Thomas (Sheila) Hagel of Brownton, MN; Grandchildren; William, Matthew, Elizabeth & Jonathan Hagel. Siblings; Marvin (Eileen) Myhre of Ogilvie, MN, Ronald (Gayle) Myhre of Ramsey, MN and Kathleen (John) Hubbard of Main; Sister-in-Law, Shirley Myhre of Columbia Hts, MN; half-brothers; Clinton (Linda) Myhre of Blaine, MN and Alan (Tatiana) Myhre of Florida and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his estranged wife, Shirlee; friend, Terri and brother, Bob.
