Dick L. Tilley, age 56, of Le Sueur died on Tuesday, February 8, 2011. He was born on September 23, 1954 in St. Peter, Minnesota to Verle and Vivian (Vinz) Tilley. Dick graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1973 and attended Minneapolis Vocational School. He married Mary Hix on June 12, 1976 in Le Sueur. He has owned Tilley Construction in Le Sueur since 1974 and was also a licensed building inspector. Dick was very active in his community and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus and is a 21 year member of the Le Sueur Airport Commission. He served on the Le Sueur Fire Department from 1983 retiring in 2005. He had served as the Fire Chief from 1998 to 2005 and President of the Minnesota Region 12 Fire Fighters Association from 2000 to the present. Since 2003 he has served as the Le Sueur Pioneer Power Fire Department Vice President. He enjoyed golf, hunting, camping, motorcycling, snowmobiling and spending time with his family. He had a keen interest in the history and restoration of log homes. Dick was a very simple man, straightforward, honest and a bit of a trickster. He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Nicholas (Carrie) Tilley of Scottsdale, AZ and Joshua (Lindsey) Tilley of Grand Rapids, MI; one grandson, Camden Tilley; mother, Vivian Tilley of Belle Plaine; brothers and sisters, Barry (Donna) Tilley of Inver Grove Heights, Ron (Cherie) Tilley of Australia, Ann (George) Dubovich of Andover, Dean (Mary) Tilley of Stillwater, Julie Tilley of St. Paul and Nancy Tilley of Colorado and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. There will be a time of visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur.
