Dolores H. Bandelin

Dolores H. Bandelin, age 95 of Arlington, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Oak Terrace in Gaylord. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15 at the United Methodist Church in Arlington. Rev. Rod Stemme will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, and will continue one hour prior to service time at church on Thursday. Interment will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery. Dolores was born on May 18, 1919 to Edward and Martha (Baugatz) Alwin in Sleepy Eye, MN. She graduated from Lakota High School in North Dakota. She attended college in Valley City North Dakota while there she received her teaching certificate and then taught at District 46 rural schools near Bernadotte, MN. She married Earl Bandelin on December 14, 1944 at the United Methodist Church in Arlington. She did substitute teaching in the Arlington area in the 1970's and worked in the office at the Green Isle school. Dolores was a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary 6081 of Arlington. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church and Ladies Group. She was also active in 4H. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening and gladiolas. Dolores is survived by her children, Roger (Debra) Bandelin of Grand Rapids, MN, Merry Kay Bandelin of Arlington and Lynne (Richard) Meyer of Bovey, MN; sons-in-law, Arnold Mathews of St. Cloud and Roland Erickson of Hibbing; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Mickey Beltz of Glencoe. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; daughters, Janell Mathews and Dawn Erickson; grandson, Roger Frauendienst; great-grandsons, Devon Reinert and Garrett Czech; 6 brothers and 2 sisters, Adella Moore, Elaine Breitkreutz, Harold, Milton, Roland, Gilbert, Lowell and Orville.
