Donald P. Brandt

Donald Brandt, age 88 of Henderson died on April 5, 2017 at the Benedictine Living Center in St. Peter. Funeral services will be held on April 11, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Zion United Church Christ in LeSueur. The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Zion Church and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Brown Cemetery in Henderson. Donald was born on October 23, 1928 in Blakeley Township, Scott County to Paul and Adina (Malz) Brandt. He graduated from Henderson High School where he played baseball and basketball. Before purchasing his farm he worked for the Farmers Store in Henderson then farmed in Henderson Township for 66 years. He married Doris Rohloff on June 17, 1954 and they worked together on their farm all their married lives. Don loved listening to old-time music, telling stories, dancing, playing cards, watching, and attending local sporting events, especially granddaughter, Carlie. He is survived by his children, Carol (Bill) Maczkowicz of LeSueur, Kenny (Cindy) Brandt of Joice, Iowa and Kevin (Kim) Brandt of LeSueur. 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Siblings, Doris Wigand of Henderson and Adella (Ewald) Gruetzmacher of Belle Plaine and sister-i n-law, Beverly Brandt..
