Donald "Doc" Doheny

Donald J. "Doc" Doheny, age 72 of rural Le Sueur, died at his home on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 after a brief illness. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur ending with a K.C. Rosary. Visitation will continue on Monday at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, June 27 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church, in St. Henry, MN. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Henry Catholic Cemetery. Lunch will be served at the Le Center American Legion Club. Doc was born on August 16, 1943 to Clarence and Rose (Schultz) Doheny. He grew up in the Jessenland Township area of Sibley County. He graduated from Henderson High School in 1961 and served in the United States Navy from 1961 until August of 1964. He married Jeanne Wilmes on August 7, 1965 at St. Henry Catholic Church in St. Henry, MN; they divorced many years later, but remained friends. He worked his entire life as an electrician for companies in Arlington, Le Sueur, and Mankato, MN. He raised his family with Jeanne in rural Le Sueur County. Doc was an active member of the Le Center American Legion & Le Sueur Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed zip-lining, geocaching and spending time with family and friends. Doc is survived by his special friend Janet Straub of Le Sueur, former wife Jeanne Doheny of Le Sueur. Sons: Bryan Doheny and special friend Erin Larson; and Thomas and his wife Tracy Doheny. Grandchildren: Jesse Doheny & fiancée Nicole Lansing, Evan, Alyson, Annika & Ayden Doheny and Great-granddaughter Oakley Doheny. Brother, Clarence "Bill" (Lynn) Doheny; sister, Colleen Schoeppner (special friend Donald Olson); sister, Mary Ann (Roger) Donovan. He is preceded in death by his brother Wayne and wife Patricia Doheny and his parents Clarence and Rose.
