Donald "Grandpa Dear" Everett, age 89 of rural Cleveland, died Monday, February 11, 2014 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15 at Church of Christ in Cleveland. Rev. John Kester will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in the Ottawa Cemetery. Donald was born on June 14, 1924 to LaForest and Olive (Hert) Everett in Ottawa. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1943. He married Eunice Meservey at Gray's Bay in Wayzata in 1951. He was a 65 year member of Twin Cities Carpenters and Joiners Union. He enjoyed music, working in the woods, bird watching and spending time with his wife and family. Donald is survived by his wife, Eunice; children, Mabel "Meg" (Mike) Lawrence of Cleveland, Patrick James (Bev) Everett of Cleveland and Linda "Kukla (William) Bloom of Cleveland; 6 dear grandchildren; 11 beloved great grandchildren; sister, Beverly Robinson of Cleveland and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 infant brothers and sister, Marian Pettis.
