Donald Floyd Schwarz

Donald Floyd Schwarz, age 87 of rural Le Sueur died at his home on Friday, February 9, 2024.  Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, Le Sueur, MN.  Visitation will be at the church that morning, from 10:00 a.m. ~ 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery, Le Sueur, MN followed by lunch in the church social hall.  Rev. Jan Crissinger will officiate the services.

Don was born on June 17, 1936 to Floyd and Anna (Schaefer) Schwarz in Neillsville, WI.  He grew up in Le Sueur, MN and graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1954 and later attended the Hamline University and the University of Minnesota.  He married Betty Hartwig on October 14, 1961 at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur, MN.  He worked for 40 years at Boos Dental Labs in Minneapolis as a customer service representative, (1960 ~ 2000).  Don was active in his church serving on his church council, he was a 4-H Leader, enjoyed fishing, football; (Le Sueur-Henderson High School, Gophers and Vikings); gardening.  He enjoyed puzzles and was highly competitive in cribbage games with his wife and riotous marble games with his family.  Don left a legacy based upon his unshakable love for his family.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; sons; Dave (Janel) Schwarz of Apple Valley, MN and Dan (Joy) Schwarz of St. Croix Falls, WI.  Grandchildren; Nicholas Schwarz, Anika and Kai Schwarz.  Brothers; Dean (Beverly) Schwarz of Zumbrota, MN and Ron (Beth) Schwarz of Apple Valley, MN.  Numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings; Dorothy (Ken) Birrenbach and Bob (Sandy) Schwarz.
