Doris Bartholomew

Doris Elaine Bartholomew, age 68, of Belle Plaine, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1st, 2014, surrounded by family, at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis. Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on March 18th, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Don Genereux will officiate. A private burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred (suggested organizations are the Belle Plaine Food Shelf, Dollars for Scholars or animal rescue organizations). Doris was born in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota on August 19th, 1945 to Leonard and Nora (Reistad) Jepson. On October 15th, 1966 she married Thomas Bartholomew at the Albert Lea United Methodist Church. Doris worked as a quality control inspector in the electronics industry. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Belle Plaine as well as the Belle Plaine Food Shelf. Her favorite hobbies were baking, crafting, gardening, quilting, and sewing. Doris is survived by her husband, Tom, and their furry friends, Rusty Riley, Daughter, Sherry Bartholomew and wife Jennifer Arlen, Son, Justin Jay Bartholomew and wife Stephanie Bartholomew, Grandchildren, Haley Aiden Bartholomew, Sister, RuthAnn Majeski and husband Larry Majeski, Many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
