Doris Hayer

Doris Hayer, age 90, of St. Peter, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Benedictine Living Community of St. Perter, MN. Funeral services will be on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery in St. Peter, MN. Rev. Jean Sidner will officiate the services. Doris Emma was born on March 16, 1925 to Fred and Ella (Kihn) Deno at their rural Sharon Township home. She was baptized on April 10, 1925, at Zion Evangelical parsonage. She was confirmed on May 21, 1939, at Zion Evangelical Church. She grew up and attended District #32 school and went on to graduate from Le Sueur High School in 1943. Doris married Andrew Hayer on April 4, 1946 and they raised their family on the Hayer family farm in Lake Prairie Township. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed her family and friends. Doris is survived by her husband, Andrew, enjoying 69 years together; son, Gary (Jean) Hayer of St. Peter, MN; daughters, Nancy (Duane) Duehn of Maple Grove, MN and Susan (Kevin) Wagner of Emmons, MN. Grandchildren; Heath, Heidi, Michael, Lisa, Andrea and Dan. 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence (Norma) Deno of Mankato, MN and sister-in-Law, Marion Veith, St. Peter, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law, Violet Vogt and brothers-in-law, Eugene Vogt and Clarence Veith.
