Dorothea Panning, age 98 of Arlington, died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waconia, MN. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Green Isle. Rev. Erwin Sprengeler and Rev. David Winter will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at church. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Green Isle. Dorothea was born on January 5, 1913 to Carl and Sophia (Kahre) Pautsch in Wolsey, SD. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church. On September 13, 1932 she was united in marriage to William Buck and lived on a farm in Washington Lake Township near Green Isle until William's death in 1966. Dorothea worked as a Nurse's Aide and at Tonka Toys from 1960 to 1975. In July of 1972 she was united in marriage to William Panning. In June of 1986 William Panning passed away. Dorothea was an active church member. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, crocheting, baking and cooking. Dorothea is survived by her son, Fredrich (Colleen) Buck of Bloomington; foster son, Arden (Esther) Mueller of California; and their children, Sharee, Linda and Dennis and families; granddaughter, Robyn (Landis) Woods of Kasota; grandsons, Tracy (Tina) Buck of Savage and Shawn (Rebekah) Buck of Inver Grove Heights; foster grandson, Don Yamauchi of Ramsey; great- grandchildren, Alecia and Logan Woods, Kyle Buck, Brittany and Shannon Goetke, and Kayla and Derek Buck; foster great-grandchildren, Jacob and Alisha Yamauchi; sister, Ruth Janetzke of Ft. Wayne, IN; son-in-law, Maynard (Eunice) Rucks of Henderson; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William Buck; infant son, Arthur Buck; daughter, Dorene Rucks; second husband, William Panning; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Caroline (Carl) Nemitz, Marie (Edgar) Schamber, Clara (Edwin) Helle and Amanda Kramer; 4 brothers and sisters-in-law, Fredrich (Freida) Pautsch, Walter (Clara) Pautsch, Albert (Delores) Pautsch and Rufus (Arlene) Pautsch; grandson, Jeffery Rucks; and brother-in-law, Edmund Janetzke.
