Dorothy Ann Barron (Smith)

Dorothy Ann Barron (Smith), age 75 of Le Sueur, died on Thursday morning, October 16, 2014 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur. Funeral services will be on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur. Visitation will be on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 from 2 - 6 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time on Monday at the church. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery, Le Sueur. Dorothy was born on July 12, 1939 to Kenneth and Dorothy (Jurgens) Smith in Le Sueur. She graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1957. She married Michael D. Barron on September 5, 1959 in Le Sueur. She worked at Cliff's Hilltop Grocery in Le Sueur. She also waitressed at the Coachlight Supper Club and the Le Sueur Country Club. Dorothy enjoyed time spent with her family and grandchildren, attending grand kids sporting events, hanging out with friends and in their younger years she enjoyed traveling with Mike. Dorothy is survived by her children, Robin ( Jerome) Barron-Wickert of Lakeville, Debbie (Rey) Velasco of New Hope and Mike (Deb) Barron of St. Peter; grandchildren, Jacob (Tara) Leonard, Haley (Jake) Lucas, Cesario Velasco, Dorothy Grace Velasco, Joe Barron and Ben Barron; great-grandson, Easton Lucas; siblings, Jack Smith of Le Sueur, Judy (Andy) Puttin of Le Sueur, Susi (Danny) Smith Otting of Le Sueur and Tom (Cindy) Smith of Le Center; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Smith of Le Sueur and Pearl Smith of Le Sueur; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Michael in '07; brothers, Kenneth Smith, Jr., Jim Smith and Peter Smith.
