Dorothy Bones

Dorothy Bones, age 95 of Le Sueur, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at LeSueur Assisted Living in Le Sueur, MN. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1p.m. on Tuesday, March 10 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Le Sueur, with Father George Grafsky officiating. Visitation will be held at the church 1 hour before the service and interment will follow the service at St. Anne's Cemetery. Dorothy was born on April 9, 1919 to John and Helena (Doktor) Krosche of Le Sueur. She attended St. Anne's School and graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1937. She married Edward P. Bones on December 30, 1947 at St. Anne's Church and they made their home in Le Sueur where Eddie served as Le Sueur's Chief of Police. Dorothy was a stay-at-home mom until Eddie died in 1962. After his death, she went to work in the Advertising Department at Green Giant, where she worked until her retirement. In her younger years, Dorothy enjoyed bowling, roller skating, and drawing. After her husband's death, she operated a consignment shop out of her home called the "Dorothy's Next to New Shop." In retirement she enjoyed playing cards, painting and drawing, looking for treasures at garage sales, and cuddling with her beloved cat "Emma." She is survived by her children: Patrick Bones of St. Paul, MN (and Jean Gillen of Le Sueur); James Bones of Minneapolis, MN; Wendy Bones (and Darrell Gantt) of Seattle, WA; nieces and nephews: Jacqueline Christenson (and George Nelson) of San Antonio, TX; Peter (Cindy) Christensen of Idaho Falls, ID; Mary Foley of Le Sueur; James (Kay) Bratsch of Lakeville, MN; Nancy (Bill) Hix of Montgomery, MN; Raymond (Monica) Bratsch of Tryon, NC; Carol (Vern) Bombardier of E. Gull Lake, MN; and Rose Volkmann, of Moorhead, MN. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents John and Helena Krosche, and all five of her siblings: Philomene Krosche Morgan, Cecelia Krosche Christenson, Ruth Krosche Bratsch, Irene Krosche and Raymond Krosche (who died as an infant).
