Dorothy Brown

Dorothy J. Brown, age 91 of Belle Plaine, died on July 14, 2015. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday July 20, 2015 at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church. Fr. Roger Hessian will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7p.m. on Sunday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and will continue on Monday one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in St. Thomas Catholic Church Cemetery in St. Thomas, MN. Dorothy was born on August 8, 1923 to Henry and Mary (Ginter) Pianko in Derrynane Township, LeSueur County. Dorothy married Sylvester "Bud" Brown on June 30, 1943 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lexington, MN. She was a homemaker all her life. She loved cooking and entertaining family and friends. She always had enough food for everyone. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 brothers; 6 sisters; daughter, Teresa Witt and a grandson, Jed Brown. She is survived by children, Sharon Hanson of Minnetonka, Kathleen (Jim) Melchior of Eden Prairie and Tim Brown of Shakopee, MN; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Kathryn O'Neill and Amie Fogarty.
