Dorothy Marie Shaughnessy

Dorothy Marie Shaughnessy, age 91 of Le Sueur died peacefully on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Comfort Residence in Le Sueur. She was born on September 12, 1925 to Louis and Sabina (Schloesser) DeGonda. Dorothy married Clayton Denzer on June 18, 1946. They farmed in rural LeSueur and had eight children; he preceded her in death on February 25, 1969. Dorothy later married T. Melvin Shaughnessy; he died on June 4, 2006. Dorothy is survived by her children: Don (Pat) Denzer of Savage, MN; Jim (Chris) Denzer of Savage, MN; Jerry (Vinnie) Denzer of Le Sueur, MN; Janel (Bill) Winters of Brooklyn Park, MN; Sandy (Ernie) Hagaman of Brooklyn Park, MN; Scott Denzer (Patrick) of San Diego, CA; Deb (John ) Yang of Littleton, CO and Jeff (Michelle) Denzer of Coon Rapids, MN; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Jacob DeGonda; and many other cherished relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in St. Thomas, (rural Le Sueur). Interment will be in the St. Thomas Cemetery in St. Thomas. Visitation will begin with a 9:00 a.m. C.C.W. Rosary, following Rosary, visitation will continue until Mass time at 11:00 a.m. Lunch to follow at St. Anne's School in Le Sueur, MN. Our family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Comfort Residence Assisted Living for their kind and compassionate care. Memorials preferred.
