Douglas Harold Kamps

Douglas H. Kamps, age 66 of Le Sueur, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from an ATV accident. His funeral service will be Monday, October 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home, and also one hour prior to service time on Monday. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 22. Doug was born on October 8, 1947 to Harold and Ruth (Witte) Kamps in Hutchinson. He grew up in Le Sueur. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1964. He married Charlotte Anderson at the First Lutheran Church in St. Peter on June 12, 1971. He worked for Le Sueur Incorporate. He enjoyed NASCAR, the outdoors and plowing snow. Memorials are preferred. Doug is survived by his wife, Charlotte; sons, Jeff (fiancée, Sandra Kirkham) Kamps of Ipswich, SD, Jake (Melanie Caudle) Kamps of Tea, SD and Nick (Angela) Kamps of Tea, SD; 8 grandchildren, Tyler, Haleigh, Nathan, Johnathan, Addison, Ella, Lela and Kennedy; mother, Ruth Kamps of Le Sueur; sister, Sharon (Roger) Wilkinson of St. Peter; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Harold.
