Douglas "Spike" Mueller, age 75 of Arlington and formerly of Green Isle passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 15th at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Green Isle. Visitation will be two hours prior to mass time Thursday at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Douglas Allen Mueller was born in Glencoe on July 30, 1947 to Herman W. and Nelda H. (Graupmann) Mueller. He graduated from Glencoe High School and in 1967 was drafted into the US Army until being discharged in 1969. Spike married Suzanne Shimota on May 31, 1969 in Green Isle. He worked as a supervisor for the US Postal Service. He was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church in Green Isle until its closing and then became a member of Our Lady of the Prairie Church in Belle Plaine. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Spike is survived by his wife; Suzanne of Arlington, daughters; Molly Mueller (significant other Dave Shively) and Mia (John) Kammeyer-Mueller, grandsons; William and Jonas Kammeyer-Mueller. Spike is preceded in death by his parents; Herman and Nelda Mueller, brother; Donald Mueller, and parents-in-law; William and Alice Shimota.
