Duane A. Parpart, age 82 of Arlington passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 at Glencoe Regional Health Services Hospital. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1 st at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service time (11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) Thursday at the church. Interment with military honors will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Duane Arwald Parpart was born on September 11, 1940 in Green Isle Township to Waldo and Pauline (Hansch) Parpart. Duane married Muriel Winter on October 30, 1958 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. He received his training for the US Air Force in Duluth. Duane also lived in Minneapolis and Howard Lake before settling in again in Arlington for the rest of his life. Duane owned and operated Parparts Truck Line and was an over-the-road truck driver. He also worked as a mechanic at Seneca Foods and was even a parttime police officer for the City of Arlington. Duane was a collector of several things and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Duane is survived by his three children; Gail (James) Guptill, Wanda (Darwin) Rannow, and Rodney Parpart, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Duane is preceded in death by his parents, wife Muriel and brother Donald.
