Earl E. Brockhoff, age 87 of Arlington, Minnesota died on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Green Isle Township. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington and one hour prior to the services at the church on Sunday. He was born on September 6, 1930 in Glencoe, Minnesota to Edward and Malinda (Sauter) Brockhoff. Earl attended Zion Lutheran Church parochial school in Green Isle Township. He worked various jobs before entering the U. S. Army in 1951. After his honorable discharge he married Dorothy Byer on September 20, 1957 at Young America. They shared their entire married life of 60 years in Arlington. He worked for various home building contractors his entire life and enjoyed finish carpentry. After his retirement he enjoyed working in his shop making furniture and other items for family. Earl was a 60 year member, former commander and officer for the Arthur Ziegler V.F.W. Post 6031 in Arlington. He was very proud of his involvement with the V.F.W. Drill Team and their precision marching in various parades and events in the area the Twin Cities. He was a life-long, active member in all aspects of Zion Lutheran Church in Green Isle Township. He was involved with the Arlington A's Baseball Association and had served as president, enjoyed old time music, playing cards, fishing as well as the Twins and Vikings. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Daughters, Debora (Alan) Panning of Green Isle, Sandra (Lorn) Herrmann of New Germany and Joan (Paul) Thomes of Chaska. 7 Grandchildren, Brandon (Shari) Panning and Colin Panning; Adam (Marie) Herrmann and Tara (Brian)Kaletka; Joshua, Alexander and Seth Thomes. 3 Great-grandchildren, Marshall & Emma Panning and Landen Thomes. Also surviving are sister in-law, Elaine Brockhoff, brother-in-law, Melvin (LaVonne) Byer, Sisters-in Law, Caroline Byer, Irma Nelson, Geraldine(Ronald) Wischnack, JoAnn (Robert) Kroells and Sharon (Charles) Shimota and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marvin (Violet) Brockhoff and Gilbert Brockhoff and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Mabel Byer and a brother-in-law, Ervin Byer.
