Earl Martin Nagel, age 87 of Kasota, formerly of Le Sueur, died Saturday, January 1, 2011 at his home in Kasota. He was born on June 20, 1923 to Henry and Elsie (Bethke) Nagel in Arlington, MN. He served in the Marines during World War II. After his military service he farmed near Arlington, MN. He operated several business enterprises and subsequently had a long career distributing animal health products for TransAgra International. Earl was a long time Le Sueur, MN resident. He and his wife Bonnie retired to the Lake Washington area where after a prolonged illness he passed away peacefully at home with his wife, daughter and sisters-in-law at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elsie; first wife, Helen; brothers Harold and Roland; sister, Thusnelda Chamberlain; and step-son, Mark Sohns. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Nagel (Walthers); brothers, Melvin Nagel of Arlington, MN, Henry Nagel of Palm Desert, CA; sisters, Robena Eckes of Whittier, CA, and Marion Wilson of Brooklyn Center, MN; sons, Craig (friend, Meggy Becker) Nagel of Mankato, MN and Scott (Cindy) Nagel of St. Louis Park, MN; daughters, Nikki Nagel of Santa Monica, CA and Krista Nagel of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Evan and Paige Nagel, Tawa, Sierra and Noel Uribe, and Nicholas Schroeder; great-grand child, Pakal Uribe. Earl was an avid sports fan. He loved nothing more than being with family and friends. There will be a private, family burial sometime in the spring, and there will be a celebration of Earl's life on the anniversary of his birth in June, 2011.
