Earl Stier

Earl Edwin Stier born on January 6, 1933 in Belle Plaine Township to Edwin & Edna (nee Kessler) Stier, entered his heavenly home on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home, which he has called home for the last 14 years, at the age of 84 years 8 months and 21 days. Earl was baptized into faith on January 29, 1933 at St. John Lutheran Church. He was confirmed on April 14th 1946 at St. John Lutheran Church by Reverend Haupt. Earl was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church and served on church council and was past president of the congregation for a couple of terms and enjoyed singing with the church choir. Earl graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1950. He farmed the family farm until December 2002 and drove school bus for over 43 years for both Tillquist and Stier Bus Companies within the Belle Plaine School District driving Route #1. He loved driving extracurricular activities and was a huge fan of high school sports. Earl's passion was playing keyboards for the Ernie Coopman Band from 1985 - 1997 and traveling with them throughout a few states. Earl's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Johnson & Pastor Sarah Timian, officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 - 11:00 am prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Belle Plaine, MN. Earl is survived by Sister-in-Law, Doris Stier of Henderson, MN; Brothers-in-law, Richard (Dara Lee) Tillquist of Belle Plaine and Pastor Ron Freimark of Woodbury, MN; Nieces - Kristi Yee, Karin Miller, Joy Henke, Deanne McConnell & Janell Hoernemann. He is preceded in death by his parents - Edwin & Edna. Brother - Lyle Stier, Sisters - Elverna Tillquist & Lorayne Freimark and Niece - Julie (Freimark) Goldsmith. Casket bearers are: Paul Stier, Merlin Stier, John Stier, Leon Stier, David Jones & Paul Bauleke.
