Earl A. Tesch, age 91, of LeSueur and formerly of rural Henderson died on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in LeSueur. He was born on August 14, 1921 in Henderson Township, Sibley County to Emil and Mable (Schmidt) Tesch. Earl attended country school and farmed all of his working life in Sibley County. He married Marvel Wolpern on November 20, 1947 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Earl was an active member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Henderson and had served on the church council. His interests included restoring and maintaining small engines, wood working and being active as a member of Pioneer Power Association. In his younger years he enjoyed entertaining neighbors and friends as a drummer in various small bands, including the Hill Toppers Band. He is survived by his wife, Marvel, Children, Beverly (Larry) Stueber, Glen (Lisa) Tesch and Glenna (Steve) Fries of Henderson. 7 Grandchildren, Daniel (Darcy) Stueber of Mankato, Mark (Erin) Stueber of Henderson, Emily (Nathaniel) Doehling of Arlington, Andrew Tesch of Henderson, Alyssa Tesch of Minneapolis, Bradley (Crystal) Fries and Bryan (special friend, Mary Walechka) Fries of Henderson. 8 Great-grandchildren, Kendyl & Conner Stueber, Lauren & Colin Stueber, Ella, Nora & Eli Doehling and Owen Fries. Sister-in-law, Dorothy Tesch of Gaylord. He was preceded in death by a sister, Verna Just and 3 brothers, Alvin, Lawrence and Sylvan Tesch. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Henderson with interment in Brown Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a. m. until the time of services at the church on Tuesday. Kolden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
