Earl C. Voss

Earl C. Voss, age 91 of rural Le Sueur died at his home on Saturday, September 23, 2017. He was born on April 4, 1926, in Le Sueur to George and Grace (Rethwill) Voss. He attended Le Sueur Public Schools and on March 27, 1947, married Mary Jane Tellijohn in Mankato. They farmed in Sharon Township until 1961. Earl founded the Caribou Gun Club in 1953 and continued until the present day. He enjoyed hunting, especially elk and moose as well as trap shooting nationwide. Earl loved traveling and drove the Alaskan Highway numerous times. He was a great story teller of his many excursions, favored country music and playing pool. Earl is survived by his wife, Mary Jane, Children, Diane (Windy) Block of St. Peter, Gregg (Louisa) Voss of Le Sueur, Sue (Jerry) Gill of Belle Plaine, Randy (Ann Osborn) Voss of Le Sueur, Deb Voss of St. Peter and Scott Voss of Le Sueur. 9 Grandchildren, Travis Block, Tricia (Scott) Ruud, Julie (Matt) Carlson, Justin (Cassie Efta) Block, Adam (Melissa) Block, Liz (Steve Caplecha) Voss, Brian Voss, Alicia (Brian) Dick and Jon Voss. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and a niece and nephew. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ray and Victor Voss, sisters, Vivian Jessup and Georgia Alstad and a grandson, Tyler Heilman. A Celebration of Earl's Life will be held at the Caribou Gun Club on Sunday, October 8, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
