Edith Marie Thoele, age 83 of rural Henderson passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Glencoe Regional Health Services. The funeral will be11:30 a.m. Monday, November 8th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. A time of visitation will be two hours (9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.) prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery.

Edith was born on July 10, 1938 in St. Peter to Carl and Esther (Peiffle) Woehler. She was a 1957 graduate of Arlington High School and furthered her education at Faribault School of Nursing and became an LPN. Edith worked at Gaylord, Arlington and Faribault Hospitals and Arlington Good Samaritan.

Edith loved talking on the phone, sending cards to loved ones and was a very competitive card, marble and domino player. She enjoyed baking, canning, fishing, horses, and chickens. She was a former member of the Arlington Merry Makers, New Ulm Night Owls and Christian Women’s Club. She taught Thursday School and Sunday School and worked with the 4-H as a Key Leader and as an Adult Leader.

Edith married the love of her life, Karl Thoele on March 16, 1963 in Glencoe. The couple was blessed with 7 children and 14 grandchildren. Edith is preceded in death by her parents and step father Harvey Eggert, Sr., son David, siblings; Johnny, Marvin and Dennis Woehler, siblings-in-law; Carol Woehler, Kenneth Bauco, Norman and Delores Thoele and LeRoy and Verna Thoele.

Edith is survived by her husband Karl Thoele, children; Sally Thoele, Karen (Scott) Boerboom, Donna (Donald) Carr, Daniel (Jamie) Thoele, Mary Thoele (Joseph Swenson), Mark Thoele  (Nichole Gruis), grandchildren; Evan, Owen and Adam Boerboom, McKenna, Cambry and KyWynn Carr, Morgan, Maelynn, Macey and Maleena Thoele, Blake and Reed Swenson, Hailey and Logan Thoele, siblings; Charles Woehler (Vivian Grisham), Sandra Bauco, sister-in-law Sandy Woehler, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials are preferred to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
