Edna L. Gutzmer

Edna L. Gutzmer, age 96 of Arlington passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9th at Arlington United Methodist Church. Visitation will be two hours prior to service time Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery in Le Sueur. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling the arrangements. Edna was born on March 10, 1916 in Judson to Thomas W. and Alice K. (Hindle) Brown. She attended school in Judson and completed high school in St. Peter. On October, 28, 1936 she married Harvey W. Gutzmer in Le Sueur. Edna and Harvey farmed most of their life in Kelso Township of Sibley County. The couple later moved to Arlington and resided at Highland Commons. For the past several years Edna has resided in Hutchinson and most recently at Harmony River Living Center. As a major part of pastime and entertainment, Edna had a passion for playing cards. Mrs. Gutzmer is survived by her children: Jerald (Donna) Gutzmer of Glencoe, Marlin (Elaine) Gutzmer of Clarinda, Iowa, Darlene (Dennis) Berndt of Hutchinson, and Tamara Brown of Roseville; daughter-in-law: Irene Gutzmer of Crosslake; grandchildren: Michael, Kevin, Jeffrey, Brian, Stacy, Jason, Alison, Emily, and Megan; 18 great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. Edna is preceded in death by her husband: Harvey; children: Debra Denise and Glendon "Butch" Gutzmer; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
