Edna E. Harens, age 87 of Arlington, died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the Golden Hearts Assisted Living in Arlington. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6 at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington. Rev. Kurt Lehmkuhl will officiate. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery. Edna was born on February 3, 1926 to Frederick and Alma (Abraham) Klitzke in Stewart, MN. She graduated from Brownton High School. She married Joseph Harens on November 15, 1947 in Stewart. She worked at the local drug store until she was 80 years old. She enjoyed playing cards, socializing, shopping, fishing and hunting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edna is survived by her daughters, Jonell (Charles) Soeffker of Henderson and Julie (fiancé, Steve Koester) Painter of Arlington; grandchildren, Nikki Brenke, Mike Painter and Kuyler Soeffker; great-grandchildren, Taylor Sellnow, Emma Painter, Aftyn Brenke, Joe Painter, Ashley Painter and Grayson Soeffker; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Darleen Harens of Lakeville; and many nieces and nephews. Edna is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph in '92; grandson, Patrick Painter in '07; brother and sister-in-law, Milton (Elizabeth) Klitzke; sisters and brothers-in-law, Iola (Stanley) Ruschmeyer and Louella (Stanley) Sell; and many other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in the Harens family.
