Edna Mumm

Edna J. Heppner Mumm, age 92, passed away on October 22, 2015. Services are Thursday, November 5, 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 501 E. Fillmore Ave., Eau Claire, WI. Edna was born April 10, 1923 to Otto and Jennie Briesemeister in Almena, WI. She attended Barron, WI. High School and the University of WI, River Falls (formerly River Falls State Teachers College) where she earned a B.S. in Education and later a M.A. in Counseling. She was a dedicated elementary teacher who began her lengthy career in the Minneapolis Public Schools followed by a short time in Mondovi, WI then settling in Cumberland, WI Public Schools until her retirement. Preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin Heppner and husband John Mumm, sister Gladys Fossen and brother Norman Briesemeister. Left to cherish her memory are sister-in-law Nan Briesemeister, brother-in-law Mannie Fossen, nieces and nephews Ed (Gwen) Briesemeister, Kathy (Jim) Behm, John (Sophie) Briesemeister, Alan (Cindy) Briesemeister, Karen (John) Onken, Kay (John) Cepeda, Luana (Len) Bierlein, John (Sylvia) Fossen and many great-nieces and nephews and friends. Edna will be remembered for her laughs, hugs, work ethic and her deep care for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you donate to either Peace Lutheran Church, The Alzheimer's Association or to a charity of your choice that benefits children.
