Edna Tuma, age 99, of St. Peter and formerly of LeSueur, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011 at the First Lutheran Church in Le Sueur. Rev. Carl Bruihler will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in LeCenter in the Spring. Edna was born on July 25, 1911 in at home in LeCenter to Theodore and Ida (Wegner) Sparke. She graduated from McKinley High School in LeCenter. Edna married Clarence "Pat" Tuma on January 15, 1941 at St. Paul's Church parsonage in LeCenter. After his death in 2006 she moved to St. Peter and lived with her son and daughter-in-law. She worked at Spoors in LeCenter and for the Green Giant Company in Le Sueur. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in LeSueur and enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting and sewing. She was an avid Twins fan and enjoyed watching movies. Edna is survived by her son, Curtis (Liz) Tuma of St. Peter. 3 Grandchildren, Christopher Tuma of Minneapolis, Peter (fiancé, Latosha Lewis) Tuma of LeSueur and Brett Tuma of St. Peter. Great-grandchildren, Dylan and Toni Tuma Sisters-in-law, Marion and Betty Tuma Niece, Karen Glende She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006 and 2 brothers, Fritz and Theodore Sparke.
