Edward J. Kauffmann

Edward J. Kauffmann, age 68 of Arlington, died on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society Care Center in Arlington, MN. Memorial Mass will be on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington, MN. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Dec. 1, at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, MN from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. There will also be a 7:00 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. to Mass time at church on Wednesday morning. Interment with military honors will be at Arlington Public Cemetery. Fr. Keith Salisbury will officiate the Mass and committal services. He was born on March 19, 1947 in Gaylord, MN to Joseph and Dorothy (Adelmann) Kauffmann. Eddy was baptized and confirmed in his faith at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington. He graduated from Arlington-Green Isle High School in 1965. Eddy entered the United States Army in 1967. He was discharged early due to the death of his father on June 20, 1968. When he returned home, he farmed the family farm. He married Rosemary Voigt on September 24, 1988 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Helen Township, Sibley County, MN. He continued dairy farming for many years in Arlington Township. In October of 1996 stopped dairy farming. Eddy went to work for Seneca Foods in Arlington, MN in 1997 and worked in the receiving dept. He retired from Seneca in 2009. Ed was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington. He enjoyed visiting with people, John Wayne movies, westerns, country music, playing cards and had a great memory for dates and had a special talent for fixing anything. He is survived by his wife Rosemary; brother, Joseph (Kathy) Kauffmann of Waconia, MN, Ron (Karen) Kauffmann of Babbitt, MN. Brother-in-law, Dr. Virgil (Kay) Voigt of Hutchinson, MN, Sister-in-Law, Ruth Wolter of Gaylord, MN and special nieces and nephews. Eddy is preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law, Carl and Martha Voigt.
