 
            Edwin A. Kaiser, age 92 of Jessenland Township, rural Henderson died October 29, 2013 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Minneapolis after complications from a fall. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 6 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington. A time for family and friends to gather will take place two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Pastor Wayne Morrison will officiate the services. Ed was born on April 14, 1921 in Jessenland Township of Sibley County, to William and Martha (Giese) Kaiser. He received his education at District 29 country school and then Arlington High School. After graduation he wanted to travel so he went to San Diego and found work at Consolidated Aircraft assembling B-24 bombers before he enlisted in the Navy in May 1944. During the time spent in the Navy he printed the confidential maps that were used in WWII. He was honorably discharged in April 1946. He was united in marriage to Sylvia Schwich on December 5, 1948 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Green Isle. They were married for 65 years. He operated a mink ranch until 1972 when he then started delivering milk door to door in Mankato. He did this for a number of years until he grew tired of the drive and looked for something closer. He found his next job at the Green Isle School as a custodian and he enjoyed the job very much. He loved the kids and the time spent there. He retired in 1987. Ed had been a pilot and loved airplanes along with his many other hobbies. He loved to play the saxophone, cut wood, and scrap metal, but the most highly on his list was spending time with family and friends. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #408. Edwin is survived by his wife: Sylvia of Henderson; son: Robert (Dawn) Kaiser of Madelia; daughter: Sherry (Henry) Reiner of Hutchinson; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson and seven siblings.
