Elaine Lucille Breitkreutz

Elaine Breitkreutz, age 100 of Arlington passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18th at the Arlington United Methodist Church. Rev. Rod Stemme will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington and one hour prior to service time Thursday at the church. Interment will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery. Elaine was born on September 30, 1913 to Edward and Martha (Baugatz) Alwin in Brown County, MN. She graduated from High School in Lakota, ND in 1929 at the age of 15. She married LeRoy Breitkreutz on November 25, 1934 at Ebenezer Methodist Church in Arlington Twp. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and later became the Sunday School Superintendent. She was also a 50 year member of the Eastern Stars. Elaine enjoyed square dancing, volunteering, playing the piano at the Good Samaritan, baking, gardening, and caring for animals and always eager in learning new things. Elaine is survived by her son, Douglas Breitkreutz of Asheboro, North Carolina; daughter, Donna Burger of North St. Paul; grandchildren, Kelley Whitley and Michael (Katrin) Breitkreutz; great-grandchildren, Nikole and Bryn Whitley, Sean, Lara and Julia Breitkreutz; and sister, Dolores Bandelin. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy; infant son, Wayne Ross; 6 brothers and 1 sister.
