Elaine P. Meyer, age 81 of Belle Plaine, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2013 at Mayo Health System in New Prague, surrounded by her family. Memorial service will be at 11a.m. on Tuesday, January 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. John Meyer will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at church on Tuesday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Elaine was born in Henderson on February 10, 1931 to William and Rose (Schwartz) Habeck. She attended school in Henderson. On July 29, 1950 she married Earl M. Meyer in Belle Plaine. They lived in Jordan and Belle Plaine before making their home in Blakeley. Elaine worked at Wendt Laboratories in Blakeley for a number of years and waitressed and cooked for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and going to Mystic Lake Casino. She enjoyed traveling to Arizona and to Las Vegas. Her biggest challenge was raising 5 boys in Blakeley. Elaine is survived by her 5 sons; William (Mary) of Henderson, Eugene (Virginia) of Rogers, Arkansas, Roger (JoAnn) of Henderson, Robert (Lucy) of Henderson, and Wayne of Faribault, 1 Sister; Rosemary Cameron of Le Sueur, 9 Grandchildren; Jenny, William J. (Maria), Matthew, John (Sarah), Katrina (Wayne) Anderson, Anna, Andrew, Steven and Miranda, 1 Great Grandchild; Mary Meyer, brother-in-law; Frank Hoffman and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl, parents, William and Rose Habeck, siblings, Ervin, June, Elmer, and William Habeck and Betty Borgardt.
