Elaine Emily (Meyer) Brockhoff

Elaine Emily (Meyer) Brockhoff, age 95, of Arlington, MN, passed away at French Meadow Place on April 15, 2025. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington, MN at 11 A.M. with a visitation beginning at 9 A.M. at the church. Interment will be at Arlington Public Cemetery followed by lunch at the church. Memorials preferred to Peace Lutheran Church.

Elaine was born on May 20, 1929, in Jessenland Township to Adolf and Esther (Riedler) Meyer. She was baptized four days later at their family house on May 24, 1929. She was confirmed on April 18, 1943, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Bradtke. Elaine attended Arlington area schools. She went on to meet Gilbert “Gil” Brockhoff and happily wed on May 16, 1948 in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Elaine and Gilbert were blessed with two children, Diane and David.

Gil and Elaine lived in their Jessenland Township farm for many years before moving to Arlington in 1979. Elaine had worked different jobs but loved her work at the hospital the most. She loved her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; sweets – especially chocolate; baking bars, cookies, pies, and cakes; mowing the lawn; flowers; making GM hotdish (everyone’s favortie); playing cards; vacationing across the United States with Gil and their travel companions; and any family activity.

Elaine is survived by her children Diane Brown of Green Isle MN, and David (Laurie) Brockhoff of Henderson, MN; grandchildren Chris (Megan) Brown of Brandon, SD, Kim (Mike) Dhaene of Waconia, MN, Christina (Jason) Litfin of Arlington, MN, Austin (special friend Amanda and children Presley and Tucker) Brockhoff of Henderson, MN; great-grandchildren Will (Alivia, fiancée) Brown, Matt Brown, Adysen, Becca, and Cullen Dhaene, and Emily Holmquist; sister-in-law Dorothy Brockhoff, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Gil; father Adolf and mother Esther Meyer; sister Luella Mueller Hafeman and brother-in-law Harry Mueller; son-in-law Jim Brown; father-in-law and mother-in-law Edward and Malinda Brockhoff; brother-in-law Earl Brockhoff; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Marvin Brockhoff and Violet Brockhoff.
