Eleanora Sellnow

Eleanora Ann Sellnow age 95 of Belle Plaine, died on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Monday, June 23, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. John Meyer will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-7p.m. on Sunday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Monday morning. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Eleanora was born in Blakeley on August 5, 1918 to Emil and Clara (Schultz) Otto. She grew up in Blakeley and was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran in Belle Plaine. On September 27, 1939 she married Benjamin Sellnow at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. They farmed in Blakeley Township for many years. Eleanora also worked at Green Giant and many years at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. She enjoyed baking, gardening, canning, jigsaw puzzles and was an avid reader. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Arthur Otto and Alfred Otto and sister, Clara Koepp. Eleanora is survived by her children, Beverly (Manley) Stier of Watkins, MN, Marilyn (Thomas) Johnson of Belle Plaine, Darrell (Barbara) Sellnow of Belle Plaine, 7 Grandchildren, Julie Erlandsen, Chad Sellnow, Jennifer Peck, Tammy Becker, Jacob Sellnow, Terry Stier and Timothy Sellnow, 10 Great Grandchildren, Taylor, Axel, Grace, Harlee, Allison, Mackenzie, Hunter, Benjamin, Camille and Cole, Brothers and Sisters in law, Elmer Koepp, Elmira Otto, Elmer (Wanda) Sellnow.
