Eleanore C. Westphal

Eleanore Westphal, age 97 of Belle Plaine, died on January 28, 2014 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1st at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine, Rev. John Meyer will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday morning. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Eleanore was born in Blakeley on October 9, 1916 to George and Ida (Ahrens) Peltz. She grew up in Blakeley and attended country school. On June 2, 1937 she married Erwin Westphal at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. After they married they lived in Belle Plaine. She sold bread out of her home. She worked seasonally at Green Giant in Le Sueur. She worked many years in laundry service at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine and she also cleaned houses. She enjoyed painting dish towels, embroidering, playing cards and fishing. Eleanore is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Erwin in 1991; son, David in 2012; grandson, Mark Noll; two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette (William) Noll of Surprise, AZ; son, John (Jan) Westphal of Belle Plaine; daughter-in-law, Ruth Westphal of Belle Plaine; grandchildren, Bree (Joe Edberg) Westphal, Jason (Tabitha) Westphal, Tammy Westphal, Eric (Tina) Westphal, William (Dawn) Noll and Scott Noll; great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Colton Westphal, David and Catherine Edberg and Shawn and Matthew Noll; brother, Allen (Lillian) Peltz of Belle Plaine; sister, Vera Amyotte; sister-in-law, Liz Peltz Kellerman and many nieces and nephews.
