Elmer Burdorf

Elmer Burdorf, age 86 of Arlington, died on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center in Arlington, MN. Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 22, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington. Visitation will be at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington on Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will be in Arlington Public Cemetery in Arlington. Elmer was born on August 8, 1927 to Herman & Anna (Kroells) Burdorf in Arlington Township, Sibley County. He attended country schools in the Arlington area. He married Arlene Becker on May 21, 1950. He was a dairy farmer for many years and later worked for Dean's Foods in Arlington for 12 years. He later married Lorraine Otto on Oct. 1, 2000. Elmer enjoyed making Tin Men, (Wizard of Oz) and volunteering & visiting the nursing home in Arlington. He is survived by his children; Gary (Carol) Burdorf of Arlington, MN, Steven (Susan) Burdorf of Eagan, MN, Dale (Kathy) Burdorf of Deerwood, MN. Step-children, Duran "Butch" (Annette) Koester of Glencoe, MN, Craig (Peggy) Koester of Trempealeau, Wisconsin. 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren & 1 step-great-grandchild; Brother, Alfred (Evelyn) Burdorf of Arlington, MN. He is preceded in death by his wives, Arlene and Lorraine.
