Elmira Otto

Elmira Otto, age 90 of Belle Plaine, passed away on September 30, 2015 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral Service will be at 11a.m. on Tuesday, October 6 at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8p.m. on Monday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday morning. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Elmira was born in Tyrone Township, Le Sueur County, to Fred and Minnie (Latzke) Krentz. She attended country school and Le Sueur High School. On May 4, 1948 she married Alfred Otto at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Blakeley Township. They farmed in Blakeley Township until moving to town in 1995. She worked at the Lutheran Home for 16 years. Elmira was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, volunteered at the Vet's Club, meals on wheels and St. John Altar Guild. She enjoyed playing cards, baking, watching TV game shows and word search. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Debra in 1970, husband, Alfred in 2007, daughter, Sandra Seydel in 2008, brother, Earl & Delores Krentz, in laws, Ben & Eleanora Sellnow, Art & Florence Otto, Eunice Krentz & Clara Koepp. Elmira is survived by her children, Barbara (Michael) Smith of Burnsville, David (Mary) Otto of Belle Plaine, Cynthia (David) Lynch of Cologne, Son in law, Eugene Seydel of Willmar, 10 Grandchildren, Evan Seydel, Jena Rogers, Lauren & Zach Smith. Katie & Claire Otto, Nate, Matt, Jessie & Mari Lynch, Sister, Lois King of Le Sueur, Brothers, Maynard (Doris) and Frederick Krentz of Belle Plaine, Brother in law Elmer Koepp of Belle Plaine. Many Nieces and Nephews.
