Elroy Leo Ernsting

Elroy L. Ernsting, age 78 of Le Sueur, died Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27 at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be at a later date and time at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Elroy was born on May 21, 1936 at home in Sibley Co., MN to Leo and Berdina (Tiegs) Ernsting. He joined the United States Navy in 1958. He married Lois Fell on November 5, 1966 at Zion U.C.C. in Le Sueur. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Green Giant in Le Sueur for about 35 years. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid outdoorsman. Elroy is survived by his wife, Lois; daughters, Carrie Ernsting of Le Sueur and Deanna Ernsting of Le Sueur; grandchildren, Jordyn Macias and Kyle Wondra; brothers, Cecil (Ruby) Ernsting of Le Sueur and Ronald (Judy) Ernsting of Le Sueur and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter.
