Elsie A. Nelson

Elsie A. Nelson, age 93 of Le Sueur died Monday, July 7, 2014 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11 at the United Methodist Church in Le Sueur. Rev. Luke Nelson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery, Le Sueur. Elsie was born on January 5, 1921 to Joseph and Mary (Matonaha) Rohla in Wagner, SD. She attended nursing school in Sioux Falls. She married Murland Nelson on November 4, 1941 in Wagner, SD. They lived in various locations including Mankato, Windom and moved to Le Sueur in 1965 where they operated Nelson's Bakery until 1985. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was involved with the United Methodist Women. Elsie is survived by her children, Cheryle (Rod) Wilke of Le Sueur, Judy (Dick) Tanner of Osceola, WI and Pam Ellingson of Hastings, MN; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Murland in 1993 and three sisters.
