Elverne Wayne Jacobus

Elverne Wayne Jacobus, age 56 of rural Le Sueur, died on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at Mayo Health Systems in Mankato. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arlington Township, Sibley County, Rev. William Postel officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 4-8 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Elverne was born on August 8, 1956 to Charles & Dorothy (Reinke) Jacobus in St. Peter, MN. He grew up on many farms in the Sibley, Nicollet & Blue Earth Counties. Elverne was confirmed on March 20, 1970 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arlington Township. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1974. He married Avis Hardel on April 24, 1976 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arlington Township, Sibley County. Elverne worked at various Dairy & Hog farms in the Arlington/Le Sueur area. He is survived by his wife Avis of rural Le Sueur; Children,Nathan Jacobus & his fiancée Lori Martens of Gaylord, MN, Katherine (Benjamin) Meyer of Mankato, MN, Jennifer (Stephen) Pockrandt of Nisswa, MN, Teresa Jacobus and her special friend (Kellen Olson) of Le Sueur, MN and Heather Jacobus of Arlington, MN; 6 Grandchildren, Bailey, Emily, Jordan, Kennedy, Emma & Brandon Mother,Dorothy Jacobus of Arlington, MN; Siblings,Janet (Virgil) Young of Belle Plaine, MN, Alan (Bonnie) Jacobus of Pequot, MN and Glendon (Cathy) Jacobus of Willmar, MN. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles.
