Eric G. Dulka, age 68, died on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm. Mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donor's choice. Kolden Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. koldenfuneralhome.com Eric George Dulka was born on August 21, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio to Ludwig J. and Anne T. (nee Tyszka) Dulka. He was raised in Chardon, Ohio and graduated from Chardon High School on June 6, 1966. He attended Cleveland State University for one year and then transferred to the University of Minnesota, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree, with distinction on March 21, 1970. He was a licensed mortician and served people in bereavement with care, compassion and integrity, first in St. Paul for one year and then moved to New Ulm in April 1971 and continued his service to families in bereavement in New Ulm, Gibbon and Sleepy Eye for over twenty-one years. In 1992 Divine Providence guided him to serve in another profession and he and his wife purchased Travel Fun, Inc., doing business as New Ulm Travel Fun. He loved serving and being with people and showing them parts of God's beautiful creation all over the United States and all over the world. He married Janet Gail Malmberg on February 22, 1975 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm, with Father Dennis Labat officiating. Surviving are his wife, Janet of New Ulm. Sons, Trevor (Karyn) Dulka and grandchildren Carter and Allison of Cottage Grove, MN. Ludwig IV (Natalie) Dulka and granddaughters Lucia and Kenley of Portland, OR., Solomon of New Ulm and Wojciech Stefanczyk of Poland, an exchange student who lived with Eric & Jan for one year and became as close to us as our natural sons. Niece and Nephew: Andrea and Dr. Michael Stens and three grandnieces, Emily, Danielle, and Julianne Stens all of Fort Myers, Florida. Uncle Edward (Polly) Dulka; aunt, Helen Spade, all of Ohio. Cousins, Greg and Virginia Tyszka of Solon, Ohio; Edward Tyszka of San Diego, CA. and many Dulka cousins in Ohio, Virginia, and Dulka and Dulkavo's in Tvrdosin, Slovakia. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Major Ludwig T. Dulka; grandparents, Ludwig and Helen (Weniger) Dulka; Thomas and Stephanie (Kowalski) Tyszka; and his godparents, George M. and Cecilia (Tyszka) Dulka. He deeply believed in the three F's: Faith, Family and Freedom. His faith was very important in his life and he was a devout member of the Catholic Church, attending mass many times during the week. His family was his major priority in life and he deeply loved his wife, his sons and their families and all his relatives. He was very considerate of all people and their opinions, was a man of high integrity, and was his own person and when necessary showed people the truth. He loved traveling and mushroom picking.
