Esther A. (Latzke) Beseke

April 27, 1928 — October 2, 2019

Arlington

Esther A. Beseke, age 91 of Arlington passed away October 2, 2019 at Golden Hearts Assisted Living Center in Arlington. Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington. A time for family and friends to gather will be two hours prior to service time Saturday at the church. Interment will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery.

Esther Anna Pauline (Latzke) Beseke was born to Henry and Minnie (Krentz) Latzke on April 27, 1928. She was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Esther graduated from Belle Plaine High School. On September 30, 1947 she was united in marriage to Milberne Beseke at Redeemer Lutheran Church in rural Henderson. The couple made their home on the family farm. Three children were born to this union. Esther worked at Big Stone Canning Company and at Bongards after retiring to town in 1978. Esther enjoyed fishing and volunteering at Meals on Wheels. She was a faithful servant at church, volunteering in many capacities. Esther was competitive with other family members in donating blood and most recently received the “10 gallon pin”. As a couple, Milberne and Esther enjoyed traveling and visited Alaska, Hawaii, Europe and the Holy Land. She enjoyed spending time at the lake, fishing and playing cards. Esther loved music, especially spiritual and old tyme. After the death of her husband, she continued volunteering for various organizations as she enjoyed working with people.

Esther is survived by her children; Ruth (Clifford) Franke of Spring Valley, William “Bill” (Charlotte) Beseke of Arlington, and Mary Beseke of Hinckley, grandchildren; Kara Franke, Jessica (David) Frank, Douglas (Stephanie) Franke and Alizabeth (Wendy) Beseke, great grandchildren; Kayanne, Isaac, Devon (fiancee, Mickayla) and Alaya, great great granddaughter; Lillian, sister; Laverna Schuldt, sisters-in-law; Betty Latzke and Arlene Latzke.

Esther is preceded in death by her husband; Milberne, parents, brothers; Franklin, Harold and Lloyd Latzke, Sisters-in-law; Louise Latzke and Verna Kessler, Brothers-in-law; Edwin Schuldt and Edwin Kessler.

Memorials are preferred to Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington.
